‘Hear His Heart…’
The Emergency…
Aberdeen has the lowest church attendance figures in Scotland. Only 5.7% of people go to church (approx. 13,000 out of a population of 227,000).
So, the vast majority of people in Aberdeen are living and dying without understanding or even hearing the good news and saving power contained within the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Tragically, this means that many are destined, once they die, to spend an eternity in hell separated from God.
This is an emergency.
The Mission…
Jesus has given His church the mission to ‘go into the whole world and make disciples’ (Matthew 28:19). In other words, he has called us act as an ‘Early Warning System’ … to share with the world how they can be saved through faith in Jesus.
The Mission at Silver City Church…
Responding to this clear instruction, our goal over the next 5 years is…
To give every person in our community an opportunity to Hear His Heart
Every person…
Every single person is precious to God. Our goal is to share the heart of Jesus with every person living, working and studying in our community.
Our Community…
We are blessed to have people attend Silver City Church from all across Aberdeen City and Shire. But God has planted us in the Rosemount and Gilcomston neighbourhoods. And so over the next 5 years we will steward our resources to target the community immediately surrounding our church.
Hear His Heart…
The bible tells us the gospel of Christ is ‘the power of God for salvation for everyone who believes’ (Romans 1:16). Our ‘Hear His Heart’ message will be based on sharing 4 foundational truths at the heart of the Gospel of Christ…
He created you // He loves you // He died for you // He’s waiting for your response
